Speeding in 80 zone (road work on highway)

Hi folks,

Another speeding question... I looked up on the forum but couldn't find my answer to this specific case. I was driving on A9 between Montreux and Villeneuve to my friend's place, where there was some road work and they've set a speed limit of 80. I am always careful with respect to limitations on the highway, but this time the car in front of me was driving at ~ 60 km/h, and I just wanted to overtake him, and then accidentally speeded up I saw the flash, and noticed that my speed was around 103-104 km/h on the speedometer. But the worst part is, on my way back on the highway, I noticed this radar sign for the duration of road work, and underneath "license suspension"! I know that in a regular case, considering the tolerance, I'll probably just pay a fine of CHF 260 or something (or maybe less!?), but I was wondering whether under road work and this sign (that I hadn't noticed on my way out), things might change!? Will this license suspension apply to all speeds > 80 ?

Just to reassure you (not).

On that stretch, and also between Vevey and Lausanne, the authorities had a sign that proudly boasted how man driver licences had been revoked due to the holders being caught speeding.

How accurate, the ever increasing number was, and whether or not it was just scare tactics (obviously meant as a deterrent), is open to speculation, but prepare for the worst, but still hope for the best.

Oops! That's not the best thing I was hoping to hear So again to consider the worst case, any idea for how long the license might be suspended?!

The reason for this speed limit and the need for its strict adherence is the number of accidents in recent years to those unfortunate road workers who have to live with idiots going by.
