Car Wash

I know there are many posts on car washes in the Basel area, but I wanted to let you know, just across the border in Lörrach there is a fantastic car wash.

I got the works for 15.5 euro and it was one more euro to vacuum.

Re: Car Wash

What do you call the works? Self service prewash, wash, polish and dry? If so, that sounds expensive to me. I can get that for CHF7 at the Volvo dealer in Fribourg.

yes, I should have clarified.

You stay in the car, but the drive through machine does an excellent job. Then, you just need 1 euro to vac inside.

You get that for 13 CHF at Shell (where they have the wash garage) For 16 they wash the undercarriage and for 20 CHF they also put wax. Not bad at all.

And after you can vacuum for about a CHF.

Ah, mine's for a do-it-yourself job so it would be a bit cheaper.

no where does polish in a drive thru enviroment - do you mean the nasty spray on "wax" that last a few days?

there are about 4 car cleaning centres along that road, the drive through does a good job and includes an under wash with "wax". its good for those that dont have the time or facilities to do it properly.

They also have a detailing bay - i asked to have the seats/carpets and headliner interior steam/wet cleaned and normal vacuumed - they wanted €300 eeerrr no i dont think so.

down the side of the toyota garage is a cleaning place, thats a lot cheaper but its a detailing bay so you need to book.

Might be something like that as it's a do-it-yourself bay and not a drive-thru one. Never used a drive-thru here although have lots of times in the UK. Our first car here was a Volvo so it just made sense to use theirs when we wanted to clean the car.
