Where to buy motor oil in Zug?

Evening all,

I need to borrow the experties of our DYI mechanics. I've had a the oil warning light come on and according to the electronic check I need to top up the oil by one litre. I plan to go to the dealer tomorrow and probably end up paying CHF30 or so for some engine oil, but I thought I'd ask here to see what you might suggest first.

Oil needed is:
Castrol SLX
Prof Power Flow
BMW LL04 0W-30

So anyone know where I can buy it for err "competitive" price?

Good call! I wasn't sure they'll have it, I'll take a look in the Coop Bau + Hobby

Danke!

one liter of Castrol costs around 14-16 € at Obi in Tiengen across the border.

Bear it in mind if you are planning a trip across the border for shopping.

I'm sick of swiss prices on service and consumables for the cars!

Re: Where to buy motor oil in Zug?

Well I bought it for CHF22.90 from coop bau + hobby, not sure if the price is right though as the price came up to 32.90 at the till but had to be matched to what was on the shelves label! I love swiss inefficiency!

Re: Where to buy motor oil in Zug?

Hello,
I am not sure if BMW sells the oil at an excessively higher price than "normal" price.

The last time I had my BMW, I went to the BMW garage, and they topped it up (about 1-2litres) and charged me 1 litre price. They do not profit from the oil topups, they really don't. You can even buy the oil from them.

However it is always good to shop around and know the prices.
I think you save perhaps 5chf for your effort?

Drive safe.

Re: Where to buy motor oil in Zug?

Any garage sells oil with the right grade. For instance, Coop Pronto tanking station will sell for CHF20-30. I bought mine a number of times in Kaufland for EUR12.99 and on my shopping trip last Saturday. I reckon you own 325i 2.5 liter engine which eats about a liter of oil per each 5000km driven
