It's not a comprehensive list either, my commune, Villars sur Glâne, sells day travel passes for 30.-, but is not listed.
That's actually not the site's fault. It's up to the Gemeinde/commune whether it participates in the site or not.

Just a quick question.. which all routes are included for gemeinde tageskarte?
Is something with cable car ride etc is covered?
Here's a map and a list: http://mct.sbb.ch/mct/uebersichtskarte-general-abo.pdf

Yes, the Tageskarte ( Swiss Day Pass ) is valid on boats, ferries, trams, buses and trains.

From SBB:

Quote:

1-day travelpasses and class upgrades. With a 1-day travelpass, you can travel wherever you want to in Switzerland using public transport. There is no better way to discover the country’s most beautiful regions. Step onboard!

With a 1-day travelpass, you enjoy unlimited travel on trains, post buses, boats and municipal transport
and the PDF above highlights it all. Did your source point out to one of the few exceptions ?

Re: Do you have any idea about "gemeinde tageskarte"?

Yes. It is possible to get such a card from each commune/gemeinde/whatever it is called in italian/romansch.

Just go ask them. My son needed one, and got one sent to him from Graubunden, and we live in Basel!!

I'm adding Zurich Gemeinde Tageskarte to this thread.

SBB Tageskarte for Stadt Zurich residents are available from the SBB office Urania Pavilion which is in Werdmühleplatz in Zurich about 5 mins walk from HB.

They are available up to three months in advance, can be used by guests as well as people who don't hold half-fare (halbtax) cards.

The cost is 42chf each.

There are a limited number, and they are booked for a particular date of your choice then cannot be changed.

They are not-refundable commercial resale is prohibited.

There are a limited number of tickets per person. you might need ID to get your tickets (to prove you live in the right area).
Is this still available for Zurich city?

If yes:

1. is it to book this card online?
2. is the price still the same?
3. what's the usual availability (ie. would I be able to get a couple of them if booking one week ahead? )

Thanks

Re: Do you have any idea about "gemeinde tageskarte"?

I read in the paper, today, that Zurich no longer sells them, because demand was too low to cover the costs. (Based on my experience, weekends were sold out almost immediately, but during the week, you could often even get a ticket for the same day.)

What a shame!

Municipality Train Tickets- SBB (Vaud)

I heard from a colleague that each municipality has a number of train tickets which are available to residents for a reduced price for travel within Switzerland. Has anybody else ever heard of this or requested tickets?

Thanks!

(I live in a municipality just outside of Lausanne)

Re: Do you have any idea about "gemeinde tageskarte"?

Hi everyone,

First time poster here. I've been living over here in the Canton of Berne since April. I've got some visitors coming over next month and already got them day passes from my local gemeinde.

My question is, does the gemeinde tageskarte have the same validity as the day pass you can get from SBB, which you can use from midnight of the date on the ticket until 5 am of the following day? Or can you only use the gemeinde tageskarte on the very day itself (from midnight to midnight)?

Thanks very much!
