Gregory is GREAT! I used him yesterday to bring some furniture to the Hinwil recycling plant. I spoke to him in the morning and we scheduled a time for the same afternoon. He arrived at my place at the EXACT time he said he would & even brought along a friend to help (at no extra charge to me). I highly recommend him and will definitely use him again.

Hi, was wondering if anyone can recommend particular removal assistance?
Am looking for 2 guys to help out with a move in Zürich, end of July. Thanks for any responses.

Hi Vince,

I highly recommend Gregory. I used him last Saturday to transfer a L shape sofa from Niederweningen to Schlieren. He is very helpful and puncture.

Good Luck

Dorothy

I can only second that! He even came and helped me on a Sunday at a very resonable price!

Hi just wondering if anyone knows of someone I can use in the Basel area. I would probably only be moving a bed, maybe a cupboard and a wardrobe.

Cheers.

Re: Man with Van

I moved on the weekend with the help of a guy by the name of Emil Chamo, who wasn't bad. He helped me take everything apart, put it all together for me and secured it all very nicely in the van. I think it ended up costing me 280 francs for 3 hours, and he came and picked me and my things up and then did stops at all the places I had to pick furniture up from.
He also does a service at Ikea where you just have to look up on the internet what you want, and he'll go and pick it up (and pay for it) for 90CHF and come and help you put it together (not sure whether that costs more or not), which is a bit cheaper than what they charge you at Ikea.
His number is 079 302 73 42 and he speaks quite good English (he's Israeli).
He was really keen for business and willing to negotiate a deal (and was really keen for me to tell other expats about his services).

What is Gregory's number?

Will need a man with a van, and someone who will put Ikea furniture together in a few weeks time, when I'm settled in Zurich/Affoltern am Albis- depends where I find somewhere to stay ( moving the 4th of August, from Ireland)

can I add here a recommendation for 'priority home services'.

Contact person is Nathan - www.priorityhomeservices.com

in a nutshell - good sized van, happy to help with lifting, but also keen to do installations of lights, putting Ikea together, installation of satellite, and any other 'handyman' or 'maintenance' jobs.

He's an expat (Brit). We arranged for him to meet us at Ikea after we'd had time to clear all our purchases and line them up at the checkout - and then he packed the van and delivered it to our apartment, and helped unpack and put our light fittings in at the same time...

He was also handy to have to arrange our pickups from various forum members who had stuff for us, and also meet at the brocki's to pick up our second hand stuff...

Phone for a quote - give your approximate number of hours and make sure you check what the 'call out' fee will be (depends on the arrangement)
- it's standard for removals to charge you from their origin point... you can pay cash (and probably get a more flexible price) or he can organise an invoice...

Thanks for posting this swisspea!

I needed somebody to help me get some furniture from a warehouse in an unknown canton far far away, and called Nathan.

He was GREAT, on time, totally professional and friendly. The best thing is that he was able to organize everything in less than a day.

Me and my husband are happy to recommend Nathan and www.priorityhomeservices.com to everyone.

We will surely call him again! :)

I used Milan last weekend, move from Lachen SZ to Dietikon CH. Everything went well. He is a very nice gentleman. I paid Fr.120 / hour which included van and his good self plus an unfortunate individual who at the end of the day did what he was told. A beer drinking alco (the helper) but they did what they had to. His van is not huge, so meant going twice, but it got done and they did everything well. Couldn't complain. His number is 079-4014058

Hello all! I loved your reviews, will try to contact the most reccomended :D

I have a question though...we will potentially be moving from luzern to luzern soon, the last time we did everything by ourselves so its not too bad but since then we got a PAX wardrobe from IKEA with regular doors (they open, not slide doors). I am afraid we can not take it appart to move :( so i wonder if this would be a hassle when moving. Its two structures of two doors each.

The new appartment does not have an elevator but the staircase is very wide. Its a 4th floor.

We only need help carrying this and the sofa, but that one can be taken appart.

Do you think this would be a problem???

Thanks!

Just booked Milan for 8 January (CHF 120 per hour for 2 people) he seemed pretty professional on the phone, was willing to speak in english but german was far better.

Selman's number no longer seems to work.

Will post a review of Milan's service once done.
