Need help with transit planning

Hey guys,
I'm trying to arrive to Chemin des Berges 12 from the Geneve-Aeroport on the Saturday of August 4th.

So far, I've been able to figure out how to use the SBB to get to Lausanne, but I can't figure out which stop in Lausanne I should get off, and then how to take the Metro in Lausanne to get to my destination. From what I see on Google Maps, I should try to get off at the station UNIL-Mouline, and then just walk to my destination. I checked out the Transit Lausanne website (http://www.t-l.ch/index.php), but I am having a hard time finding my way around the site as my French is not perfect.

Can someone help me get from Geneve-Aeroport to my destination?
Thank you so much everyone.

Did you do this on SBB website? I'm confused.. I thought SBB only provided train services across Switzerland? The METRO, I read on wikipedia, is serviced by other companies... isn't that why they have their own website?: http://www.t-l.ch/index.php Or is that website only reserved for buses?

Thank you!

Re: Need help with transit planning

Every 2nd Sunday of December each year, SBB issues a new timetable valid for the whole year. All operators are required to give their schedules for SBB ( HAFAS Database ). The timetables will be reissued on December 9th ( along with increased prices )

Hence SBB website shows a plan for ALL means for transport and quite reliable.

TO: 1022 Chavannes-près-Renens, Chemin des Berges 12

Show the detailed route. There is even a map ( destination, walking part or entire journey ).

Re: Need help with transit planning

aha... I have been able to reproduce your results after typing it in exactly the same way you did.

"lasuanne, gare"

"1022 Chavannes-près-Renens, Chemin des Berges 12"

I typed in just "lausanne", and "chemin des berges 12, 1022 chavannes-pres-renens" and it didn't work at all. Why is it that you need to type 1022 Chavannes-pres-Renens first?

Thanks again.

Re: Need help with transit planning

You can also plot all the way from Geneva Airport

Allow about 35 minutes for baggage etc. to reach the SBB station very nearby.

SBB still has the SuperSaver tickets, might be worth looking into it.

http://www.sbb.ch/en/travelcards-and...r-tickets.html - you need to try after 3 days for tickets on the 4th of August.

you're right! thank you so much jrspet!
Would you be able to explain why "1022 chevannes-pres-Renens" has to go first in order for the planner to understand what's going on?

And what exactly is http://www.t-l.ch/ useful for?

Re: Need help with transit planning

I guess one has the option to specify a Swiss format address, place of interest ( eg EPIL ) or station ( Lausanne gare ).

I do not use the other sites, and wholly depend on SBB or Deutsche Bahn ( both use the HAFAS databsse ). Perhaps someone in Swiss Romandie can explain how it will be useful.
