Exporting car from CH

If one has bought a car and the bill stated VAT in it.
When exporting that later on out of Switzerland to EU, can the VAT be claimed off like in the reverse case?

Of course. Almost all countries in the world demand that your vehicle is registered in your country of residence. Germany is no exception.

(Exceptions exist for military and diplomatic staff)

Re: Exporting car from CH

When you buy a car for export in Germany, then you do not have residency, but that is different case I suppose.
Getting insurance from final target country would also be possible I suppose, but the plates would be the most difficult one.
The idea is just to do importing, like paying duty and vat to Germany.

Re: Exporting car from CH

Well answering my own question. Seems like the best way is to take export plates from Switzerland. Will cost some hundred francs.

NO car is not new. Just that it had VAT in the purchase bill.
