ASTRA made a translation mistake, they have both times "a trailer having a mass not exceeding 750 kg" but the law says in the second paragraph "d’une remorque de plus de 750 kg/einem Anhänger von mehr als 750 kg". Otherwise the second paragraph does not make any sense.

It (2nd para) doesn't necessarily make logical sense, but I don't think it's not an error - they're just covering the options.

Google translates it as:

Cat B is:
- a car not exceeding 3500kg
- a trailer, not exceeding 750kg gross weight, can be added
- the weight of the loaded trailer should not exceed the weight of the car
- the total combined weight of car and trailer should still not exceed 3500kg

You were right I made an mistake (corrected above post). Should have read my own linked source that defines "Gesamtgewicht". So it is either:
a) a trailer with a max total weight of 750kg (Item 33 in gray card of trailer)
OR
b) max weight of trailer (Item 33 in gray card of trailer) + max weight of car (Item 33 in gray card of car) is less than 3500kg AND max weight of trailer is less than empty weight of car (Item 30 in gray card of car).

Conclusion. OP needs the BE (learning) permit for his particular trailer.
