Quality1 Used Car Guarantee

Hello,

We are purchasing a used car and the dealer said we will receive a 1 year guaranty from Quality1. I am not really sure what this means as the Quality1 website (Quality1.ch) is not in English and the dealer does not speak English. Does anyone know how the Quality1 Guarantee / warranty works?

Also I am most interested if there are different types of Quality1 warranties that I should clarify (i.e. how do I ensure I get the most comprehensive coverage)?

Overwhelmed in Zurich!

I need those German lessons!

According to the website, Quality1 offers five levels of coverage, from Q-Base (engine and transmission only) to 5-star-PLUS.

Which level is the dealer offering?

I wouldn't settle for anything less than the 3-star warranty.

Also note that there's possibly a deductible if something breaks down (ask for "Selbstbehalt").

You are buying a second hand car the warranty will not be comprehensive, it will have limits and self contributions possibly. Thats the price of buying a second hand car you get it cheaper based on the risk something may need replacing. The warranty is usually only intended to cover large expensive items and depending on the age of the car it will also have conditions so if the car is past 100K in distance dont expect it to cover much.
