Re: BMW kills themselves again...

I remember the days when with ten different Ford Cortina keys you could probably open, get into, start and drive away the majority of a car park.

Lax car security is nothing new.

Their diesels can do 500k easily if at least little care is taken of engine and other parts. Petrol less but still few hundred thousand kms without major issues. Did you buy used polished trash can?
Comfort can be improved but only to extent to not destroy great driving experience that they provide (well, not talking about SUV line...). That is main point for buying BMW, but I'm sure you are well aware of that

Mine has 325k on the clock, does not need oil topping up between services, never had any engine repairs.
The older ones definitely, I was referring to the new ones though. The quality has gone down considerably, the same goes for Audi too.

I start liking old models again despite their obselete i-drive sluggishness. Even my car dealer has shown abject disguise after BMW made release of 4-cylinder 328i version in 2012 which should be featured by 6-cylinder IMHO. Apparently BMW will correct this blunt mistake by new arrivals in 6-cylinder versions. Sounds better and feels better!

Re: BMW kills themselves again...

When first reading the title I thought it was about BMW going 3-cylinder.

It is not a 3-cylinder.
It is half a straight six!

I know a plumber in the UK that lets his pooch ride around in his van with him. Funnily enough, he doesn't need to lock it and he's never had any tools stolen.
Your plumber's dog in the UK, eh? Useful with a fire extinguisher is he ......?
