Engine cleaning near Basel?

Anyone got any recommendation for engine cleaning near Basel.

I'm thinking I might need to find a car wash in France or Germany, as the garage that did my Abgas quoted me 450CHF's!!!

But I'm not 100% convinced that a jet wash is the best method.

So before I spend 5€ on a jetwash and wreck my electrics does anyone know anywhere in Basel or over the border that can do an engine/chassis clean for the MFK at a reasonable price?

Or tips for doing it myself?

Thanks

Done it many times, at a normal jet wash, do the engine & under the suspension twice. You will probably spend about 10 euro to do it properly, it's no big deal.

Re: Engine cleaning near Basel?

Guess I can just drive over the border to Germany and find a car wash then

How strict are they, do I need to take the plastic cover underneath the engine off to get the underneath bits of the engine clean?

Re: Engine cleaning near Basel?

if its clean on top with no obvious signs of oil leaks then its fine.

if you want everything done then go to stop + go in weil opposite mcdonalds - they do the under body wash with some poor sod under the car
