drivers license conversion.. but Swiss to UK

ok, yes there is a sticky on sort of this question but from what I can tell it is other place TO Swissie ... this is Swissie to UK and no I did not read all 28 pages of the sticky
(what a nice word.. sticky sticky sticky )

anyway... soon I will need to change my Swiss drivers license to a UK one ... does anyone know the procedure or time limits involved ?

will it perhaps be as easy as taking an eye test and handing in my US license here as I did a few (?!? ) years ago?

many thanks,

g

It's really easy and I don't think you even need to do the eye test. You just need to fill out the forms, send them to the DVLA with your £50 fee and your new licence should arrive within 3 weeks. You have up to 5 years to apply for the exchange but can only drive for one year on a Swiss one before exchanging it. (same as here)

Assuming that Mrs G has previously held a GB licence then she can exchange hers for free.

Within 1 year just like CH if you want to drive! I would hand in the CH one, you self declare you can read a no plate at 21m IIRC, no sight test required.
You get a Driving license form from the post office & fill it in. When signing you declare you have been a UK resident for 6 months.

Edit seems like the world answered as I was typing!
