Flight ZH - NY

Flight ZH - NY this morning at 10.00
Husband took the flight this morning. His wife phoned me saying that husband had sent a message to her 16.00 this afternoon "emergency landing in Heathrow Airport". with the next flight number to U.S.A.
She phoned the Kloten Airport and Heathrow Airport for info. nothing.
Is there a way one can get info on why the flight was rerouted ?
Tks

Re: Flight ZH - NY

Well, the internets say the 2nd leg from LHR to JFK was cancelled. I think calling the airline directly might help.

Reason for diversion was Bird Strike damage on take-off. Most likely took a little time to assess damage, and in any case fuel would need to be burnt off before landing (unless an absolute emergency, in which case, dump fuel in the air, land PDQ)

You know, "thanks a billion" or "thanks a lot" or similar are just sayings that convey you are thankful, just as sincerly as any other...sometimes we even say "thanks a ton"
