I have a life, thank you very much! I just happen to spend a large part of it on the road doing my job, and I deal patiently with crazies like this very often. To keep my sanity once in a while it's great fun to get some soft harmless revenge so I don't end up a lunatic like that guy.

In any case this guy was a serious danger on the road (he turned into the right lane repeatedly as if to hit me, swerving back at the last minute, real crazy ass driving), and it would have probably been better if I had gone to the police, but this was more fun.

Now go and enjoy all those wonderful things that are happening in your own life, that give you the time to make such a useful comment in a thread that you have nothing to contribute to!

Well, see, the thing is that you never know what motivates people. Maybe it was an emergency and that's why he was speeding, or maybe he just got fired and is absent-minded..whatever it is, you're not the road mod and shouldn't aggravate the situation. I know some folks, who wouldn't hesitate to pull out a 9mm if confronted with instigators like you. I can only imagine, that you'd be the one driving erratically then. Also, I doubt that you actually called the house...but if you seriously did call their home, that's some psycho stuff right there...and damn near borders harassment.

I don't know that ringing someone and giving them a few words is over the top, especially if the driver was being so dangerous as I wish I had the temerity to do so on a couple of drivers that scared me witless due to their complete disregard for safety on the road. Boston is a driving joy compared to ZH, so I don't know that it's stress or lack of caffeine that is making folks drive so bats hit crazy in their Maseratis but, whatever it is, it's dangerous enough to make a phonecall.

For a mod you are pretty quick to make accusations. I don't really like being called a psycho and an instigator, but I guess you have your reasons for getting upset, like I had mine that day.

To clarify, he was not speeding, we were bumper to bumper in both lanes in fluid but slowish traffic, nowhere to go, no way to pass anyone anywhere. He was virtually millimeters from my bumper for many kilometers, and as i drive a company car that I depend on for my living I didn't really want to get rear-ended. That's why I braked and sped up immediately, to put some distance between me and him. He went ape-shit and took about 10 minutes to somehow get ahead of me by passing people on the inside or whatever, I had forgotten about him already. I wasn't looking for trouble.

He kept his car level with mine, trying to signal that I should pull over at the next exit so we could fight, making boxing movements with his hands. When I started LAUGHING at him he started feigning driving his car into mine, over and over. When he finally drove on I took his number and was going to report him, when I got the cunning idea to actually have some fun while maybe getting to the a-hole the only way I could, namely an angry wife and no sex that night.

I gave my name and number to the woman (my car had the company name on it, I was far from anonymous) and I spoke to her calmly and politely. Hardly harassment, either, but you can call it as you see fit.

Petty, chidish behaviour on my part? Yes. Psycho instigator? Oh please.

BTW, I have a good idea what motivates people like him. Cocaine and being an asshole, probably. But, yes, maybe he was delivering blood for an emergency transfusion to a baby future Einstein and I am really the bad guy here.

Yes, he was alone in the car and actually i was with another person in the car so i have a witness. And you forgot to highlight that he actually got out of the car on a road where pedestrain are not admitted and then he strongly knocked on my window yelling at me and threatening me. So, i was actually threatened since i didn't react whatsoever to his violent behavior. I think he should think twice before prosecuting me privately since i have a witness.
And remember that it doesn't matter if you are a foreigner or not, this can happen to anyone

You've not driven in London, have you?

So let me get this straight. You called the guy's wife who went totally ape-shit over braking in front of him..and left your name and number in the hopes, that his wife won't give him none, as that's the only way to get back at him?

Re: Threathened at the traffic lights

I am surprised this info is not out there:

You do know that a simple request (written form) to the Strassenverkehrsamt can have your plates removed from the public DB.
http://www.ktipp.ch/themen/beitrag/1...sperren_lassen

Here is the link for ZH: http://www.stva.zh.ch/internet/siche..._HASPE1007.pdf
I do that immediately each time I get new plates. (Looking at my rep here, just figure my rep between the CH driving community)

Hallo EFrs
here am i telling you a strange and ridicolous story. I was actually driving and there was a guy in front of me who was going extremely slow. because of this the cars behind me were flashing me and i, in turn, flashed him. Then i got to a traffic lights and this guy got out of his car and came to me and started talking in swiss german, trying to threaten me because i flashed him. I didn't reply to him nor did i opened the window nor did i in any way reacted as he was looking at me really mad. Then he looked at my license plate and got back in his car and wrote down my license plate's number. Then the traffic lights turned green and he started to speed up and left. Unfortunately i didn't take his license plate number. Now, what consequences should I expect as unfortunately my details are available on the eautoindex web site ? Can he contact the police because of this ? could he cause me troubles whatsoever? What should I do? Should I go to the police and report what happened ? thanks for your advice.

No, I told her that her husband was driving like a lunatic and tried to kill me on the road that day. I have nothing to be afraid of, except maybe your friends.

It wasn't the only way to get back at him, but it was the way that occurred to my twisted sense of humour that day, instead of getting all wound up about it.

My goodness, this really got to you, didn't it. I thought I was sharing a funny story but I find I'm Public Enemy Number One. Did I piss you off in another thread or something? If so, I apologize. Now excuse me while I go and crucify a baby.

I have already planned on taking your laundry time, getting there 5 minutes before and filling all the machines.

I once washed my windscreen driving through a town and heard a loud yell really close to the car, I though I had hit someone or something. There was a motorcycle in my blind spot and I soaked the poor guy, probably ruined his leathers! I felt really bad.

No, just his wife...

I'll call it quits now, too, while the going is good.
