Re: Park time tolerance ( blue area )

I got my last ticket on a blue zone in Winterthur. My plastic thingy was set on 15.00. The time of the ticket was 15.03. I guess there is a 2 minutes tolerance or not

I've not come across metered blue zone parking
Sorry, I was confused with Italy, where blue spaces are metered, and white are free.

I've not come across metered blue zone parking - as blue zone, by definition, requires the blue dial.
...or parking rights for that zone.

But yes, blue zones don't have meters.

I'm with the 30 min tolerance at the start, but I can't remember where I got this info from; but basically you round up to the nearest 30 minutes when setting your arrival time, as the dials only have markings every 30 mins IIRC. As for leaving time, 0 "tolerance".

As others have said, on the back of your parking disc. But to make everything bullet proof, the Swiss also have this rule in their law. Art. 48 Abs.4 SVS
Quote:
Set the parking disc to the very next mark after your arrival time. Not between. Put the disc readily visible behind the front windscreen. You must not readjust the time on the disc before you leave the parking space.

Re: Park time tolerance ( blue zones )

The rule says: set to the NEXT 1/2 hour if you are past :00 and :30
e.g.
Arrive at 0800, set to 0800
Arrive at 0801 to 0830, set to 0830
Arrive at 0831 to 0900, set to 0900

Thus max possible allowed parking time is 1hr 29 minutes (except for lunch and evenings).

Here the rules:
http://www.stadt-zuerich.ch/pd/de/in...rkscheibe.html
