car inspection when importing

Hi all I see importing cars has been pretty much covered here but I cant seem to find anything on what the technical specs are for the inspection as I would like to import a caterham csr 260 and would like to know how it would have to comply to pass the test here....the car is not eu passed but complies in the uk under the svt test

Thanks Sebastian

Do you find any response ? I'm searching the same information.

No Im afraid not I have contacted kumschick about my r500 which he said was impossible to register here and when i asked about a csr 260 he said not possible either but he was making a 260 from csr 200,s at about 125,000 chf so only about 35000 more than in the uk and thats without the vat difference!!

Thanks for your response.

So, Did you buy a Caterham ?
I search one with Rover engine (1600 or 1800), Roadsport or superlight.

In england, Offers and Prices are very interesting and the right hand drive doesn't worry me.

Regards

Cedric

Re: car inspection when importing

Hi Guys,
Did any of you ever have any luck with the Caterham import / purchase. I'd be dead keen to look into getting one next year, but they seem to be silly money from Kumschick. Might be worth importing from Germany or France?

Re: car inspection when importing

If the car has EU type certification, then the Swiss must accept without further testing.

Re: car inspection when importing

Yes I heard the Swiss had signed up for this - which I why I thought a German import would be better than a "Swiss made" one.

Does anyone have a link to further information to these "one type for all EU and Switzerland rules"?
