Sending stuff back to the UK

Hi, I've just bought a clock on behalf of a friend, in central Geneva, to send back to the UK (ironically its British made!). Could anyone please tell me how to go about back-loading it to the UK via France. Is there any problem using a Swiss address, even though the item is being sent from France? Appreciate any feedback from people who have done this before. Cheers.
