I handed in my QLD Australian licence to get a Swiss licence and Swiss licence authorties sent me a letter asking for some information i.e driving details and how long i lived in Australia. They expect it to be taken from Australia and submit to them within 30 days.

I sent QLD department an email and nothing came back, I tried calling in the morning and wait in Que is too long. Has anyone every done it, could you please advise me how to get this info.

Dd it but in Victoria. Try the QLD website there might be a form you can use to request it, or try calling them again but in QLD business hours.

Ya Qld web has a form 2121 for release of information. however, very incomplete information in that form.
Did you sent your form by post from Swiss or someone else submitted it on your behalf? and how long did it take to get letter from Victorian Department of transport?

It was a while back but from what I remember I called them and they did it all over the phone. It cost about 15 dollars and I had the certificate of proof of licence start date and driving history within5 days mailed to me in Zurich. It was very easy.

When was your QLD license issued? If it is at least 3 years since the issue date they shouldn't have a problem, otherwise bring in your old license? I handed mine in to them and they shipped my old QLD license back to me along with my pretty new Swiss license.

I changed mine over recently, including having my nsw one renewed because it as expired.

It was all handled via the website and email, and remarkably efficient (less than a week from when the request was sent).

I suggest you have a really good hunt on the Queensland website and see if you can work out how to request it online,

For the licence renewal in Australia I had it sent to my australian address, where my parents duly posts it forward by registered post. For the statement with the date of issue, I'm pretty sure the rta faxed it at my request direct to the driving department in Zurich, then posted the original.

Either way, the piece of information they need is the date when you first passed your driving test, which is not printed on the licence but can easily be requested.
