L-Driver accompanied by driver with Intl. License?
Can an L-driver drive when accompanied only by a visiting non-national who holds an international driving license?
Due an administrative oversight on my part I have to re-sit my driving test in Switzerland. I have done theory, eye-sight and first aid, and now I have my "learner license" (Lernfahrausweis).
The law on when I can drive is pretty direct: I need to be accompanied by a driver older than 23 who has had a corresponding open-ended license for at least three years
(Lernfahrten der Kategorie B dürfen nur mit einer Begleitperson nach deren 23. Geburtstag unternommen werden, sofern diese seit mindestens drei Jahren den entsprechenden und unbefristeten Führerausweis besitzt.)
My question is the meaning of the word "corresponding" (entsprechenden). My Dad is visiting, and I'd like to bring him for a drive round the mountains. He holds an International driving license for the same category vehicle, it is open ended, and, yes, he is older than 23 years :-\ Am I allowed to drive with him as the accompanying driver (Begleitperson)?
It would be great if I could find an authoritative answer for this, I've looked everywhere, and called a few places without much luck. I was also unable to find any thread on EF which already addresses this question.
