| | Zurich Airport Parking (7 days)
Looking at leaving car at airport for 7 days in January.
Would take train, but last time it was a horror story. Three large case , Three trains and train with stairs and nowhere to store cases and ended up in area at end of carriage and and ...never again !
So looking at driving to airport and using long term parking at Zurich airport for 7 days.
These guys seem o.k. ....but concerned about car being left for a week off airport.
Anyone used them ? Good or Bad ? http://www.airportparking.ch/index_e.html
Thanks in advance

No idea, but there seems to be plenty of possibilities at the airport itself: http://www.zurich-airport.com/passen...896.1387648076 |

Thanks in advance | | | | | they are the best ones of the different choices I have tried. I thought Park n fly was a bit dodgy and sprengler is a bit expensive. But you need to book well in advance.

I think a week of parking would run 300 CHF...What about rent-a-rentner, or a man with a van type setup? A family friend of ours (not anywhere near you, unfortunately) drives people to doc appointments and such for a fee per km. Might be cheaper. Do look into the park-n-fly options in Oerlikon, and even consider one-way car rentals. Hope you find something that works and doesn't break the bank. | This user would like to thank 3Wishes for this useful post: | |

Where I live, there are no buses to the main-station early enough for early flights.
I took the company-car (a Roomster) home the night before and drove back to work (with the cases) in the morning.
From there, we took the tram to the main-station (and the train from there).
Didn't have much luggage, though.
That said, there's a calculator on the airport website: http://www.flughafen-zuerich.ch/pass...fe-und-rechner
It's basically between 108 and 214 CHFs, depending on where exactly you want to park.

I always use www.autobahnhof.ch, and I am a really satisfied customer. Never for 7 days (yet), but at least 20 times in 2013 for up to 4 days. Price quotations are very clear on their website, ranging from CHF136 to CHF170 for 7 days.

Both have good websites to calculate the price if you enter exact dates, and sometimes it depends on the surcharge for early(before 7am?) or late pick-up or drop off, so use the calculator to see which one works for you.

Zug to airport on a Sunday, no direct train.
So had to change at Zurich HB. Both trains had steps from platform to carriage , so I had to let wife get on train and then lift up two large cases and a small one to her. Then on return trip from airport via Zurich HB again on a Sunday. It was a train going to Italy and stopping at ZuG. No room for cases on the train that had compartment type carriages with a narrow corridor. Then the rush to get the luggage down to the platform when it stopped at Zug for 3 minutes.
Nope never again lol

Looking at prices , airport parking charge CHF102 for a weeks parking in the open. http://www.autobahnhof.ch/ charge CHF 136 in the open or CHF 149 under cover non heated or CHF 170 heated.
If I don't care about the car getting cold or snow covered , then open seems the option. But .... is hale damage that much of a risk ?
Coming from the UK, Hale stones that can damage a parked car is a new concept to me.

I wouldn't have thought hail would be likely this time of year. Snow and ice yes, but hail is usually in the springtime iirc.

We just park in one of the airport car parks. Don't think it is actually that expensive in the overall scheme if Swiss costs!

Simple request for informed opinions, based on experience , for using different parking companies and systems at Zurich airport.
From this I will decide who is best to use and weigh this up against costs.
At the moment it looks like airportparking option at CHF102 for 7 days.

So if it is under snow, it is their job to clean it up sufficiently to be able to bring it to P3. So your car will at least be in a driveable condition when you pick it up.
Happened to me once - there was a couple of inches of snow on the roof of the car when I picked it up, but windscreen, side mirrors, etc. were cleaned.
