DutchMike has become a little unpopular
Changing drivers license Becomes a Learners License

Hi All,

I would like to ask you all if this experience is correct and that i understand it correctly

I Dutch Drivers license owner exchanged the drivers license to the stva no problem for me
I recieved a full license

My girlfriend Dutch Drivers license owner also exchanged here drivers license

But here it comes when recieving it there were alot of flyers added learners license because she's is after 1987 and she didint had her license more that 3 years.

Now the question

In the flyers it looks likes she need to do 2 courses. but weird it says
1 course 6 months after getting the license and 1 just before the 3 years end

Is this really obligatory ? because she had a full license in the Netherlands

Re: Changing drivers license Becomes a Learners License

Looks like you have to have had it for 3 years to get a full licence….
2 days course after getting Swiss driver's license

It sounds as if she has a limited licence, so can still drive but needs to do those courses within the specified time. I think.

Re: Changing drivers license Becomes a Learners License

As far as I know, you need to have lived in the country where you obtained your license with a primary residence for at least 12 months. If you have a full license (and are over 18 years old), you can then obtain a full Swiss license.

Your girlfriend should double check why she received a learner's license if she and a full license already.
