It may vary by radio, but if there is a button marked TA and an icon TA on the display, then press the button until the icon goes away.
Otherwise, check your manual.

OP - just a quick thing: have you considered that every car might have different settings, and even then the radio within the car might be different?
If you want specific answers, how about providing a bit more information?

Just my two rappen, but I would not turn them off as they contain helpful info. My German is terrible so I have learned to listen for key words. Roughly: - In der Region = In the Region, i.e. near Zurich
- A1 (ah-eins) or similar = name of the freeway or road
- Richtung = Direction. So A1 richtung Zurich means A1 traveling toward Zurich
- Zwischen = Between. Often used when mentioning a problem between two exits
- Stau = Traffic is either stopped or moving less than 10 kms per hour
- Stocken der Verkehr = Slow traffic between 10 to 30 kms per hour
Hope that helps. Sorry, I don't know the French or Italian equivalents.

der Stau = traffic jam or bottle neck
I always leave TP on as it's usually good source of traffic info. In case it interrupts my favourite song, usually it is handy to turn it off by half turn of the knob |

Surely you should be using our massively subsidized public transportation system where you wouldn't need reminding of the traffic status anyway?

A lot of helpful info but the guy wants to turn them off, not know what they mean | | | | | Typical day on EF, ask for one thing and get another. At least he also got the info he wanted. But honestly, in this case I think it is better to learn what the words mean instead of ignoring them.
