Re: car showroms

2nd hand?
new? If it is new then you do know you will have to tour the garages?
Badenerstrasse is good for garages and so are parts of Oerlikon.

if you say 2nd hand, this thread will be chopped and you will be going here: [Used Car] Online & offline - Q&A

Re: [Zurich, seek] car showrooms [unsure yet if new/2nd hand]

Any particular type of car? Where you want to go is going to vary dramatically depending on whether you want a Smart, Hummer or Lamborgini Murciélago.

If it is a Lamborgini Murciélago, can I have a drive?

Re: [Zurich, seek] car showrooms [unsure yet if new/2nd hand]

Alright; you need to tell us the type of car you might be interested in. Also talk to your employer to see if you can get a letter for a Flottenrabatt (fleet discount).

You might get from 5-13% discount.

If you state the make(s) of car you're interested in, those with experience might recommend a garage for you.

Re: [Zurich, seek] car showroom recommendation [new car]

There is a good Audi place on Rütistrasse; there is a VW place on Badenerstrasse; there is a big Merc place in Schlieren.

Re: [Zurich, seek] car showroom recommendation [new car]

You will tend to find that most dealerships specialise in a particular brand of car, so you will not find many dealerships with a wide range of cars. Exceptions are when associated brands share a common dealership like VW, Audi and Porsche do.

Discount when buying a new car

As I presume there's a lot of CS employees, could some of you advice me: I want to buy a new beamer - greedy - can I get any discounts as a CS employee? How should I proceed?

Do you have a "DE EN FR etc" top right?
It's "list of discounts" on the right hand side.

Then "C" for "car"

He he, thanks for your confidence in me

I have my intranet in English and I did manage to get to discounts and to cars. But all details about getting a fleet discount are in German. Also bumped into a note that the fleet discount can be used just in case the car would be used for business trips. True?

Re: General Q&A on buying a new car

Discount is usually model specific not dealer specific. Hence, not much scope for negotiation. Just go to the biggest showroom near you. A big discount is indicative of impending model change.

If the car need not be absolutely new, you can investigate buying a demonstrator car from the new car dealer. Car would be some months old and driven a few thousand km. They usually service it, put on new tires and deliver it as-good-as-new.

I have twice bought such almost new cars and was pleased.

Dunno. For some makes I was told, but I got an end of range so it was discounted a lot anyway.
