Re: Dartford Crossing - toll payment changes from October 2014

Yes, there's an EU directive that's been around for a few years now that states companies should be working to make one toll system to cover the whole of Europe. Should have come into operation last year iirc.

http://webarchive.nationalarchives.g...olling-service

Bit odd it didn't work with your Swiss cards. I set up our account with my UBS credit card which is a Mastercard. Maybe one-off payments work differently?

Something for the future, if it ever gets built. New third crossing.

Just received a fine of CHF 107.06 from the operator's Euro Heavies (Euro Parking Collection PLC) for non payment of tolls + admin charges

Bloody idiots, I obviously did pay online and have just sent them the receipt. I now demand CHF 100 in admin charges for my efforts
I don't believe it... its happened AGAIN.
Travelled to the UK in August 2016 and paid the DART charges a week prior by credit card. Now Euro Parking Collections (EPC) have once again written to me using the same DfT letterhead accusing me of not paying, and this time they're demanding CHF 94.61.

Its French company SANEF which seems to be the incompetent party here, passing off wrong information to EPC. Fortunately the EPC online appeals process is relatively straightforward, so I've attached my PDF receipt and that should be that.

Re: Dartford Crossing - toll payment changes from October 2014

they finally got bored of sending me letters for the crossing and daring to park in a motorway service station car park (after filling up with over 100 quids worth of diesel)

why are you bothering to pay at all???

They may not have legal jurisdiction here, but the next time I go to Blighty I might have problems if there are a stack of unpaid fines.

you assume they have the intelligence to join up systems, as they can't even get a simple billing system to work I'll take my chances

Heads up

Euro carpark collections seem to have done a deal or set up a Swiss company called ecollect.ch and are sending out demands for payments again, plus of course more fees added on top, as I understand it a U.K. Debt can't bought / sold / transferred to here and extra fees are not allowed anyway, don't know how far these people can take this (if anywhere) or it's just more bullyboy tactics

(I've not received one ,yet, this is a mate who went back to the uk recently)

Re: Dartford Crossing - toll payment changes from October 2014

About 6 months ago the system would not accept any Swiss cards. I borrowed a UK Maestro card and paid the fee with that.

I sent them numerous messages, of course I never received a reply.

Third Thames Crossing route has been announced. Route 3/Option C as expected.

Might still be alive by the time it's done.

Severn Bridge tolls to be abolished next year.

Re: Dartford Crossing - toll payment changes from October 2014

as this thread was revived

ecollect stared sending us letters again a few months back, demanding money, then threatening us with court - LOL, then saying they understand we are having financial difficulties, then more threats, then offering a payment plan, then more threats etc etc tens of letters they must think everyone is an idiot, they have be quiet for a few months now, maybe they have given up trying to collect the one pound fifty?? they have spent way more on postage then they could ever hope to recover so I really don't think as a company they will be around too long.

Re: Dartford Crossing - toll payment changes from October 2014

My wife got a 96chf fine from when she crossed in June.
The letter came from Sweden. Can this be enforced or is it just better to pay it for peace of mind?
Anyone had one and not paid recently?

TIA

no, thats eurocarpark collections, they will send you a few more dodgy letter with badly scanned government seals on (is that even legal????) then if you're really lucky will pass it onto ecollect, who'll bombard you with letters, until they finally get bored and stop.

Unless you start getting registered letter there is nothing to worry about.

Re: Dartford Crossing - toll payment changes from October 2014

just to add eurocarpark collection people where after me for

using a service station on the m1!!! filled up with 90l of diesel and bought food there, but that was apparently not enough spend to justify my time parked up

dartford tunnel *3 (no idea what happened to the 4th)

Don't acknowledge the letters in any way, just ignore them, they can't transfer the 'debt' and can't add on extra 'fines' on top.

I refuse to pay out of principle, I was held up for 3 hours at dartford due to them installing the cameras, and the service station, wtf?? total scum bags all these companies

And seems this is slowly coming into fruition. For those driving in France, Spain and Portugal you can now get a tag from APRR which covers all 3 countires.
