The debt is sold to euro which is a civil debt collection agency. Loads on respected forums about euro and the false claims they make

Euro collections.. not to be used with euro car parks, have agreements with lots of councils to chase unpaid tickets that otherwise would be written off. Send a scary letter and some pay up for the cost of a stamp.
Is your vehicle on the online database? Or a bl bs reg?

Bloody idiots, I obviously did pay online and have just sent them the receipt. I now demand CHF 100 in admin charges for my efforts | | | | | Yep, same for me. I went through the tunnel at Christmas, paid online in advance, and have received the CHF 107.06 fine today.
The warning letter is written in German... so I am going to pretend I don't understand it ;-)

Many foreign drivers not paying http://m.courier.co.uk/2000-foreigne...ail/story.html
Highways Engand has said that one in four foreign drivers haven't paid the charge and they will have to start writing some of these off.

...reading this thread with interest, but still not clear as to offer a single finger salute or bow down to what amounts as nothing much better than a gvt sponsored scam...
Drove to UK recently for 1st time in ages. Had no idea of dart charge. Missed the signs at the crossing with the seemingly convoluted payment methods, happily went about my trip non the wiser.
Now i have a lovely letter from Euro Parking asking for 84.28 chf for a 2.50 GBP toll fee missed.
Car is on Swiss plates.
Is their charge/fee enforcible?
input from those in the know most welcome.
many thanks

My 2 cents on this is that this is a civil affair and the company would have to pursue this through civil courts (poursuites and all the rest of it). In the case of Swiss debt collectors, normally the fees the debt collection agencies add aren't acceptable. Your liability is for the original bill (which may include late payment fees), but not arbitrary other fees.
Is the company going to bother? Well that's what debt collection agencies live for so it's probably a greater risk than if it were a private individual.

They sent me a few letters for the toll and the car park (motorway service station) ticket but now seem to have got a bit bored and none for a while. As with Castro they had very bad scans of UK gov logo's etc to try to make them look official, they all ended up on the fire. Don't respond , ignore them, there is nothing they can do about it

Why is it so difficult to pay the £2.50 charge? If it was a Swiss toll, you would all be screaming pay, pay, pay!

Friends from the Midlands came to stay here until yesterday and had no idea about the Dartford new system (they don't have TV and don't buy papers)- so they will be cobbled when they go back for both crossings!

They could have avoided the fine in one direction then.

Odile, I assume your friends can read and write English, even if they are from the Midlands.... |

Not sure what use the wifi code would be if they really didn't know anything about the charges. Why would they be using the Internet to look up and pay something they knew nothing about?
They could pay when they get back and for the return journey at least they should be within the window for payment after using the crossing without incurring a penalty. If they are really lucky they may get away with it in both directions.
