| | EF Challenge: Number plate cushions
Yes, the title is correctly written.
I feel it is definitely a Swiss phenomenon to have a cushion on your rear windscreen that is an embroidered replica of the car number plate. You don't see it too often, but often enough.
I realise that in Switzerland, a persons association with their registration plate can be more "intense" than other countries (ie life long in many cases), but I think this is going a bit too far. Or is it a case of knitting boredom gone mad?
THE CHALLENGE:
Be the first EF member to post a picture of a Swiss embroidered car number plate cushion, and WIN!! Well, you don't actually win anything, except that ooey gooey smug feeling you get knowing that you beat everyone else.

Guess it's not as common as we thought, considering no one has found one in 7 years...

This reminds me of an amusing true story of a motorist in Germany. He was speeding at night, and was flashed by the police radar, so he covered the number plates with brown tape and went back through the radar trap again, at a higher speed!
Unfortunately he had one of these cushions on the back parcel shelf, and the police were able to catch him from the embroidered number. It was reported in the German ADAC club magazine, with the photo, but I never forgot it as it was so amusing.

Just to think - is there another country, where, in my case for example, I could have had a number plate cushion made in 1967 and it would still be valid today?

My point being of course that here one retains the same number plate a life long (if there is no interruption where there is no car). Those old cars in the garage for 50 years are an exception.
But are there any other countries with the same system?
