| | Front license plate adapter?
So I brought a German car in and the front has 4 predrilled holes for the German sized plates. These Swiss plates are smaller so if I install the smaller plates holder, it would mean I have to drill new holes and the 4 existing holes would be exposed.
Is there an adapter I can purchase so I keep the German holders on and then install the Swiss plates over it?

You can get large Swiss number plates for the front too.
Or you can get black plastic plugs for the old holes.

I've seen however something to put in place of the existing plates and then another part protruding out holding the Swiss plate. But I don't know where to buy it. I've checked Migros Do-It without any luck. I'll ask at the MFK tomorrow, as I cannot imagine to be the only person that has encountered this problem.
I prefer not to patch up the holes as it makes the car uggggly!!

It's German, so it's ugly in any case!

The MFK too longer than I expected. They really checked every nook and cranny, but the car passed and I got my BE plates. yay!
Regarding the plates, no large front ones are available in Switzerland for personal vehicles.
I took Rob1's advice and used zip ties to put the small ones over the frame of the large one until I find a solution.

| | Re: Front license plate adapter?
I posted this 2 years ago, but I want to revisit.
I've used zip-ties to hold the current Swiss plate holder over the old German plate holder. I want to now get rid of this ugly set-up.
There are 4 holes drilled at the 4 corners on the larger plate holder. So, does anyone know where I can get a piece of plastic that I can use to cover the area that was originally holding the German plates? Then I can attach the smaller Swiss plates on.
I see many cars with this piece on, but not sure where to buy (nor know what it's really called).
Thx again
