Engine re-map

I'm thinking of getting an engine re-map...

It is provided by the Manufacturer so car warranty remains the same. But how much "hit" should I expect from the following:

1. Road Tax: I can't remember the link to the calculation but since engine size and car weight remains the same, I should pay the same as now right?

2. Insurance: I know I should ask my insurer, but has anybody here done a re-map and can tell what their insurance said about it? I just want a ball-park figure to set my expectations.

3. MFK: Since the re-map is done by Manufacturer, will this be a problem? The re-map can be "undone" but they won't refund me.

Thanks!

Re: Engine re-map

1. No change, I'd say
2. I did a Hirsch stage 1 on a saab - 12 francs more per year insurance
3. Will they notice? I don't recall but I expect I got paperwork...

Re: Engine re-map

...So it seems I'm not able to get the remap

I have been told by my local dealer that this particular remap will cause issues with the emission test. It is ok in other countries but not here in CH.

Still I can't seem to believe the reason they gave me because based on the technical data of the remap, the emission data is the same before and after remap...
