No no no. This is serious discussion about what type of car a normal person should buy so absolutely belongs here.

Jamie's shortlist for next family-wagon
C4 Picasso
VW Touran
57 year old Bonkers Ruskie Jeep-van
Audi A4 Allroad
Fiat 500X
Pogo stick
Cardboard box with 'Bugatti' written on the side
Cargo bike
GA rail pass
Fixed that for you based on my research

Re: Recommended cars for sale

As any diligent potential buyer would, I hit Google in search of some reviews, and found this page. I'm sure this is a genuine review and not at all someone being paid by UAZ who doesn't speak very good English...

http://bestsuv.info/reviews/experien...az-farmer.html

Reliable assistant in the countryside can become far not every car. We propose to consider the appeal for these purposes the passenger-cargo vehicle-terrain UAZ-39094. This model is called the "Farmer" because of its equipment for the transport of persons, cargo or equipment on all kinds of roads solid or ground coating and even on the roads. UAZ Farmer is designed for operation in the farms, and also in sphere of small business countryside.

Also, the technical data page from their website makes excellent reading...

Engine Petrol ZMZ-4091
Fuel Petrol A-92
Volume, l 2,693
Maximum output, hp (kW) 112 (82,5) at 4250 rpm
Maximum torque, Nm (kgf/m) 198 at 2500 rpm
Maximum speed, km/h 127
Fuel consumption at 90 km/h, l per 100 km 13,5
Fuel tank capacity, l 77

13.5 l per 100 km at 90 kph, so that's 'best case scenario' and you'll see 570 km from your 115CHF fill up if you're lucky (and drive slowly).

On the plus side with 127 kph flat out you aren't going to get any speeding fines on the A3...

Both better than the combi version:

Maximum speed, km/h 115
Fuel consumption at 90 km/h, l per 100 km 17

Then again, it will run on 92 octane, so presumably you can just water down some 98 to reduce the cost...

I've lost count of the number times people have asked for a practical 4wd 7-seater.

It looks like I have found a solution

Tragically it looks like they aren't available in Switzerland
But iz also one even better! Have also bus for children transportation!!

Those bumpers look like they'd definitely pass even the most stringent requirements of Uzbekistani vehicle manufacturing legislation.

50L fuel tank? The "educational institutions, excursion spots, different teaching and entertaining events" can't be too far away then...

With optional team-of-oxen-range-extender, can increase travelling distance range to 3,712 km. Iz perfekt vehicle for attending Great Really Not Steroidally Enhanced Youthful Sporting Olympic Competition in any country of Russia.

Indeed, it'll be perfect for all the various Russian athletics teams to attend events close to home, as there will be no need for them to travel internationally in the near future.

Hang on, shouldn't this discussion be in the other thread now?
You should know as it was you who fiddled around with a humerous thread when there was no reason too.

Re: Recommended cars for sale

Hello Folks

Are any expats still driving a UK reg car here that want to do a swap for a Swiss Toyota Corolla? I need to transport some stuff home and no longer need a car here so this is a great opportunity for someone who wants a bullet proof Toyota with less than 90000kms.

Why not post your advert in its own for sale thread?

Oh you have? But then thought you'd put in here too? Is that because you're a bit simple?

Yeah, turns out that part of the problem iswas my bandy-leggedness, so they've sawn through the tibia and put a plate on it to straighten it. At the same time replacing the unnoticed-for-fifteen years snapped ACL and performing a process called 'microfracture' on the top of the tibia to help repair the concomitant cartilage damage that's occurred over the years...

But don't worry, come February I'll still be able to give you some more ski lessons....

At that rate it sounds like you're going to need lessons in how to walk again before you even think of skiing!
