I for one am loving the seats in this beast
Looks fresh. Seats are indeed very nice . Price is fair based on physical appearance and km. But those a4 wheels don't fit the overall looks in my opionion. Its like putting 3 series rims on a 5 series. But other than that, it could be a good buy. Especially if it would come from the first owner and is regular serviced.

For those of you of a nervous disposition you'll be pleased to know that Heidegger has 2 "B4" class cars for sale - just in case you're caught in the middle of a handgun fight!

On a slightly different topic...

The top couple of cars on that link are BMW 428i models, every time I drive one I'm disappointed by that engine, either in 20i or 28i variations. It doesn't have the character or smoothness of the old in line 6, you might as well just buy an Audi when you take into account the less-good-than-the-E90 steering system...

I'm guessing they have that wonderful heavy "thuuummmpp" sound, when closing the doors... that's worth something!

I can't comment - the least powerful BMW I have driven in the last few years was a 530XD - and then an Alpina XD3.

You can't beat the smoothness of one of their 6- or 8- pots.

DK what do you think about the Infiniti cars? They are a but rare here, but on a first sight it looks like a possible lexus alternative.

Never driven one - nor even sat in one. However I am skeptical of the "premium" Japanese brands as they tend to relative US centric in styling, equipment and quality. I'd need to inspect the quality and feel of the plastics before propagating that view further. I was however hugely disappointed by the quality of the cabin in the latest GTR!!

The flipside of that - is I will testing a Honda next week

Re: Recommended cars for sale

As Ken said, until the Q30 Infiniti models were 100% US centric but have been sold in Europe to start building a bit of brand recognition prior to the proper stuff coming on stream.

There's nothing wrong with them but they don't really appeal to me (then again, nor does a Lexus). The Q30 looks nice, but I'd just buy an A Class I think which is the same under the skin but will probably have better resale value.

Re: Recommended cars for sale

For 3,900chf this V70 is worth a second look. The seller is an English speaking mechanic who has a steady turnover of cars.
Its not an exciting car but it should be reliable

This one is the king of understatement!!!!

What do you mean?

Edit: ah, you mean the car is understated? It looks like a family MPV but it's an 8-cylinder monster.

Nope - it mentions there is a dent on the right side

Well, yeah, but "sonst alles gut"! (Even with only 237,000 km. What could possibly go wrong?)

Re: Recommended cars for sale

I used to have the s4 version of that. Funnest car I have ever had. but the timing chain would wear out the guards over time and that was a reaaaaaaal spendy fix since the engine has to be partially lifted out. I was quoted 4k for that ......so I sold it

IIRC the S4 has the chain up against the bulkhead - and the S6 up against the front. I'd have to recheck, but I do remember a friends getting spanked for a chain change in the UK!

You could be right. Its the same engine (4.2l) but it was put in "backwards" in the s4 because of room issues.... but maybe that was just something i read somewhere sometime ..... Ig it is at the front then not so bad (easy fix) as is that dent the one above has.

But that thing was a gas guzzler though (close to my 5.7 chevy now...)

Better than the 2.7T - that is woeful on fuel. S6 is pretty solidly put together. You'll need a few CHF to keep it running (and fuelled) but they sound superb and are hugely competent (br)cruisers!

I passed by this one the other day. What do you reckon, value for money or a big waste??

I seem to find it a whole lot of car for very little money (compared to what others dare to ask for their car)
