Tony_Fernandes has no particular reputation at present
Re: Recommended cars for sale

250 was a steal, (still is). They are getting more expensive over time.

Re: Recommended cars for sale

I remember the MD of my company in England buying a Volvo 850R (the successor of the T5R) estate in hideous yellow, twenty years ago. He tried to justify the purchase by explaining that he'd just acquired a new baby. That didn't stop him becoming the laughing stock of the company, and the Volvo soon gave way for an Impreza WRX... of all things.

Volvo didn't produce the 850R in yellow. It was an exclusive color for the T-5R.

Looks like they are fun cars:

It must have been a T5R, then, and 1995. It was still hideously ugly.

The 850 T5-R and 850R are both horrendously flawed cars - too much torque steer and bucket loads of understeer - but they remain cars which changed the way that Volvo was seen by the wider world. They are cars of their time and any collector of 90s cars would have one for what they represent.

Mind you, if you want bonkers Volvos the Swedes are known to tinker in sheds over winter - and spend summer donuting in 750ps 240/740s.
