Re: Kwik Kwestion: Will "Check" dash light fail my MFK?

Go to a garage, and get them to get a delay until the parts arrive.

I've currently two delays in the pipeline.

That's not the problem, I can do the spanner work in a evening, the problem is the delivery time for the parts, they're not off the shelf from the dealer.

Try www.duettoautomobile.ch They are a Hyundai Garage, and may sell you the parts over the Counter. The Parts market here is pretty closed, most garages won't sell parts over the Counter because their margin on parts is so low that they can only turn a Profit if they also _install_ the parts.

If you really can't get the parts, consider pulling the rusty bits, dipping in Hammerite rustremover (citric acid, ca 20 CHF for half a litre), spray them with a rattle can and reinstall. There are HUGE differences between where you have the MFK done, and even which inspector you get. If you take the same car, with minor cosmetic issues, but otherwise i.o. to Regensdorf, Bulach, and Ütliberg you will fail in Regensdorf, Pass in Bulach, and at Ütliberg it may pass or fail depending on how well you washed it.

Re: Kwik Kwestion: Will "Check" dash light fail my MFK?

Thanks for the advice.

OK, I managed to get the parts and tried fitting them myself, but came unstuck when I had the back wheel bearing and mounting plate in my hand, but no bearing pusher tool to get the bearing out. I need to get the bearing out to replace the part behind that has literally half rusted away and disappeared. So I put it all back together again with the old parts, 3 hours of my life I'll never get back. It was easy on my motorcycles, stick an upside down socket in there and bang, out comes the bearing. A bit harder on a car. Anyway, I've found a garage that say they can do the fitment in time for my MFK on Friday for a good price. Let's see how it goes...
