Driving ban or not?

Hi Guys,
I got a letter today concerning a speeding fine and maybe a ban, but I'm not sure. The German words are:

"Bedingt aufgeschoben bei einer Probezeit von 2 Jahren und einer Busse von CHF 1,200"

I understand that I must pay a CHF 1,200 fine, but the 2 year thing I'm
Not do sure. Does it mean that I cannot drive for two years? Or I can drive but I'm on probation?

Danke

Re: Driving ban or not?

Neither.

You left out a important part. Either, "Geldstrafe von XY Tagessätze ..." or "Freiheitsstrafe von XY Monate/Tage ..."

Driving ban is not the judges responsibility. It will be decided by an other authority based on the judges verdict. It will be at least 3 Months.

Re: Driving ban or not?

Thanks guys for the replies.

I actually rang the lady in the office, She was very nice. She said that I'm on 2 years probation, meaning if I break any traffic law I will receive a huge fine.
The motor office will send me a seperate letter detailing my travel ban, which may be for several months.

Slow down!

What? You asked someone who'd actually know? That's completely against the spirit of EF -- and on this, of all days...!

the least we can do is to mention the search function and refer to a random thread from 2009.

Re: Driving ban or not?

Posting obligatory tangent #1 about how a cousin twice removed heard a rumor from their friend who read it somewhere on a forum where a russian kid made a post in 2004 about how he got a speeding fine in Australia and his car was crushed. It's not really relevant but I feel my existence on the forum is more justified if I can contribute irrelevant but helpful sounding crap.

Re: Driving ban or not?

Here if they crushed your car they'd also charge you to dispose of it. Or you could keep it in your garage and leave it at the curb one day for the annual metal collection.

Re: Driving ban or not?

may be you will be banned but they will decide later , But what they told you here is 1200 CHF to be paid and you will be in 2 years try period ,( if you are already in try period then they will prolong it for another two years.

Is that in 50 Zone ? what was your speed ??
