For 3k just get anything with a fresh mfk, the odds are she'll crash it within 2 years. Get her something with as many safety features as possible, and, airbags, side impact , traction etc. the odds of a 3k car passing another mfk in a couple of years are pretty slim anyway.
This will do

Quick tidy up and fresh MFK and she'll be as safe as houses. The rest of us on the other hand

Would be nice, but I was thinking of something a little more practical, for shopping etc. and to take the daughter for some driving practice.
Fiat Panda, easy, cheap, reliable

Re: Buying a Mini Cooper?

Sorry I wouldn't be letting my newly qualified son drive around in any fiat, seen just how well they stand up in a crash far too many times, or a Citroen or Peugeot for that matter.

Boring, boring.

Let the woman get her Mini - also a dream of mine.

(Must admit I recently saw a rather new VW Bug and it caught my eye, but if going that direction half the fun is the memories attached to a vintage issue design)

Agreed and anything plastic looking from the Far East, of course just my opinion.
