Top 100 airlines 2015 published

Based on 18 million questionnaires, the latest Top 100 is out and surprise surprise the top 10 are all Asian. Can't believe BA are beating Virgin Atlantic and that easyjet rate higher than United! (which rates higher than all the other US majors bar Delta...)

Enjoy! :msncool:

Garuda at 8?

Are they still banned from Europe?

I know that for example Turkish is actively sending mails to customers to vote (got one myself). perhaps that explains the high rating.
Didn't get those mails from other programmes i'm enrolled in.

I thought FIFA airlines would be number 1 this year...

Seriously how are these airlines placed anywhere above number 50 ?
Turkish at 4
Garuda at 8
Air France at 15
Malaysian at 24

I flew with Turkish Airlines from Zurich. Someone brought a large bag at the last minute,
the crew placed it in front of the main door, which conventionally is a main escape route....!
And we left 40 minutes late!

I'm guessing this is all long haul and probably business flyers. There's no other way. Notice Ryan Air didn't even make it!

Only another anecdote, but I flew econ with Turkish, on a connecting flight from London to Bangkok and it was one of the best long haul econ flights I have taken in a while. Food and drink offering both above average, service was great, and that they still provided the little amenity packs with eye masks and earplugs was a nice touch.

And Ataturk lounge is out of this world, seriously one of my favourites anywhere in the world. Architecturally stunning, light, three grand pianos, a scaletrix track, a golf simulator, pool table, cinema...

But Easyjet and a host of Asian budget airlines did ;)

I so loathe Easyjet I take the train to London now. It's less hassle, better service, reliable, on time and in first class proper meals on proper crockery. And no damn airport security!!!

Virgin Atlantic are an awful airline, full of preening prima donnas and celebrity sycophants who used to willfully ignore the rest of us plebs in Upper Class (at least on the LHR > LAX route which I used to frequently travel on and was always full of luvvies).

Of the 10 or so times I flew with them I was only once offered their onboard massage (it was a so called lottery) and more often than not their lounge spa services were heavily oversubscribed e.g. haircuts and so not available. And on one occasion I even missed my flight when their driver turned up late to pick me up.

Give me BA any day.

I prefer Oneworld Alliance( if you fly premium economy, you get the amenity pack as well, have more space and could even sleep well). The A 380 of BA is awesome, thats all i need.
I don't care about emirates, qatar, ethiad etc. I will not spent my money on an airline from the middle east.
Oneworld has good options , if BA does not fly there, for example cathay pacific.

I've never had a problem with Easyjet.

Flew with Virgin Atlantic, it was ok, but nothing special, I expected more.

I'd say EasyJet is probably my favourite short haul airline, quality wise.

Watching SWISS fall from their Crossair heyday to being outclassed by the locos is a real shame. Now BSL-LCY has gone, I can't see me booking anything with them.

Another airline (I forget their name) are doing a stop off at Basel with their Bern-LCY flight starting soon. I think it'll be a turboprop jobby.

I flew them (SkyWork Airlines) from Bern to LCY a couple of years back. Fortunately I didn't eat anything before the flight :msnsick:

I love the train too Noth- but honestly, I can't lie- I've taken EasySqueezy 100s of times, and never had any trouble (apart from 1 dour and rude Swiss hostess I reported) - don't think I ever had more than a couple of minutes delay.

Easyjet is ok, you get what you pay for.
So the expectations don't have to be high.

But the some of the passengers on easyjet flights don't behave like "normal" passengers on an "IATA" Airline with normal Service...

So evidently you were flying business class if it was in front on the main door on a ZRH-IST flight.

Turkish biz class is now excellent, very convenient for China trips ;)

I've flown Turkish Airlines several times and they were surprisingly good and their prices (e.g. to the Gulf) difficult to beat.

Re: Top 100 airlines 2015 published

Well, this list has it's flaws... it is based on subjective SATISFACTION, not quality: Anyone except of me flying Garuda regularly? Their customer service is excellent and while their safety record is very questionable (like pretty much any safety record of any company in Indonesia...) are they a mile better than the other regional airlines - so if you fly to places in Indonesia that don't happen to be Bali or the capital are they your best choice... so they have satisfied customers.

I have been on a business class flight on SQ lately and they didn't even have champagne - so my customer satisfaction was quite low... but my expectations were also much higher than the average Garuda customers' (who is probably already very happy if he arrives alive...)

Not impressed with Singapore Airlines recently, I believe they are riding on the shirt-tails of past glory. 4 recent flights and all the same.

Grumpy flight attendants, poor service and dirty planes, personally I would take Swiss over them any day.

As for Ryanair, is there a worst airline list??
