Re: Swiss International receives the Bombardier CS-100

Not only haven't Swiss received their first CS100, but the initial service entry date is currently unclear, but is expected in the first quarter of 2016.

What did happen last week was Bombardier flew a test airplane over the Atlantic for static display at the Paris air show in Le Bourget in the Swiss color scheme, then flew the jet to ZRH Tuesday to show the airline what they will be getting next year.

So you'll all have to endure the RJ for at least another 9 months or so and enjoy having all four engines dangling in your view.

Swiss is not the launch customer I can assure you of that. And until the ac makes the first flight all the news releases means nothing
Actually as far as I can see since May they have been confirmed as exactly that

Plus the first flight was indeed on 16 September. 2013. Or do you mean commercial flight?

Re: Swiss International receives the Bombardier CS-100

I managed to visit the static display of the CS-100 last week in Paris. According to the chief test pilot, it flew (empty) from Canada to Paris non-stop and still had 2hrs of fuel left, so its range is now higher than expected.

It is already painted in the Swiss Livery, but still under canadian registration until it is properly handed over. There were business seats on board 2x2 configuration, and economy class is like the avro with 2x3 seatings. Huge overhead baggage compartments looks good. One part of the plane was taken up by testing equipment though. The rear bathroom is quite spacious. Lots of testing still to be done in the next half-year.

The CS-300 had a flying display and the plane was very quiet. I also managed to visit their Global 6000 (or something) private jet and tested out their bed....

In other words, the usual procedure of course. But Mr Hohmeister with pride spoke and speaks about the delivery, and 07/15 most likely will be in all the paperwork as delivery. And it will take a while until all are delivered. But quite to the contrary, Bombardier even may not down as delivery date the day the plane was handed over ceremonially in Canada. THIS is why all those production lists have such discrepancies
