Only in Switzerland - VBZ announces ticket inspections

Anybody planning on travelling without a ticket beware.

VBZ are now announcing the dates of inspections on their website:

Re: Only in Switzerland - VBZ announces ticket inspections

If it scares folk into buying a ticket on a certain route, it might work out cheaper than paying the inspectors to go through the bus, tram, train and catch the odd culprit. Also save the inspectors from the wrath of law abiding types who might get slowed down on their journey by having to search their pockets and bags for their legally acquired ticket.

It might give them useful statistical data to estimate how many people evade their fare.

That's what I'm thinking. If they suddenly see an uptick in the number of ticket sales on inspection days compared to others with similar traffic, one can reasonably assume at least some of it is due to people who had been riding without a ticket.
