Help with pricing my 2011 Mercedes A 180 klass

Hi all,

We want to sell our Mercedes with as little hassle as possible. I was just fine with walking into a dealer and dropping it off, but several of our neighbors tell us it is a bad idea and can get quite a bit more by selling ourselves.

Checking Autoscout it seems to be selling for 15k-22k. But that appears to be from dealers so we would need to be less than that.

Anyways it is a 2011, automatic, petrol, front-wheel drive with 43,500 km. Does anybody feel like taking a best guess at what I should list it for? Just a realistic price, not a best case scenario price.

It's well worth shelling out CHF 11 for a Eurotax valuation. You enter the make/model, year, mileage and all the accessories and it will come up with a range. Pitch a bit below the top, and be prepared to be bargained down a bit more, and you'll be in the right ballpark and likely get quite a lot of enquiries. Just keep your wits about you on Autoscout - a lot of French scammers about, and strangely a lot of reasonably legit Eastern European dodgy dealers. If an enquiry sets your spidey-senses going, then listen to them

Expect to achieve 2/3 of a Eurotax valuation, they are based on dealers asking prices rather than actual price achieved.

It's not just cars that are overpriced the n the UK average price of houses for sale is 30% higher than average price of sales.

I usually just find the cheapest equivalent car on Autoscout and then based on how long its been on there, price it even cheaper.
