Just out of interest, how long is your commute to work?

When I worked full time in CH (14 years), mum commute was always under 10 minutes. This was living in ZH. Getting to Geneva this morning will be nearer 2 hours.

Re: How long is your commute?

I work in two different offices, each one is less than 10/15 minutes to get to. I did work for about a year in Oerlikon office, which increased my commute to about 50 minutes. Did not last long there (for other reasons, although the commute was one of them)!

Re: How long is your commute?

From Bugibba to Mriehel, via transport Malta, somewhere between 1h 15 min and 2h 30min for the 15 Kilometers, depending on traffic of course.
On Iron Pig... 20 Minutes.

Re: How long is your commute?

1hr 15m door to door, including a brisk walk, a 43 minute train ride, enough time to buy a drink, then a short ride on a bus.

I enjoy it. It's the only part of the day when I'm not accountable to anyone.

You've got a big house JoeUK. Takes me 5 seconds to go to the kitchen to make my tea & 5 seconds to bring it back to bed.

Office is door to door 32 minutes. Clients are as far as two hours, sometimes.

Bike-Train-Train-Bike
1h 35m I work on the train though usually. So I count some of it as work time.

Re: How long is your commute?

Depends.

With the SBB and ZVV, it takes me 57 minutes (when the train arrives on time).
With the car, it takes me 14 minutes, traffic and traffic lights included.

Re: How long is your commute?

Minimum: 26 minutes on the motorbike in summer, but typically 35 with the bike. Winter with the car is closer to an hour, although if there is snow it has been known to take 2.5.... The recent increased border checks on leaving Geneva in the evening didn't add that much to the return trip.

30 minutes total, but that's counting the trip home for lunch.

Re: How long is your commute?

Maybe the poll (if it's still editable while "live", I don't know) could have more options below "<30" and above ">1hr" as these seem to be where responses are clustering.

People writing their answers, are you clicking the poll at the top too?

Wow, big difference Helm. Not much incentive to use public transport there then.

Re: How long is your commute?

I did the poll..Surprised to see quite a few work from home. I have yet to meet and employer who is not allergic to this idea..I find in many situations productivity is higher working at home.

Re: How long is your commute?

I cycle. The usual time is 1h 15. My PB is 1:01:40, I'm hoping to go sub one hour in spring 2016 and if I do it, I will treat myself to a new bike.

20 minutes by tram and walking. 50 minutes by just walking.
