Could this be something different? For instance road tax as that's invoiced in many Kantons in spring.

Could this be something different? | | | | | LOL Urs you crack me up. Something else? In our beloved country. TIS and Switzerland is not a made up thing. Every government action comes with a price tag. In other countries you have all this bribing and stuff. We on the other hand have pulled it into the capitalist marked and formalized it. The Ferengi would be so proud.
Here the canton Zurich price list: http://www.stva.zh.ch/internet/siche...hr/GEBama.html | The following 2 users would like to thank aSwissInTheUS for this useful post: | |

The 'suspended' Monetary Sentence though is income dependent. But, as previously discussed, if I behave during my 2 year probationary period, then this will be forgiven... one more year to go...

- Jan 2016: Offense committed
- Feb 2016: Received letter from authorities that license is suspended for 3 months, busse/court fee amount, and the suspended monetary sentence amount
- Apr 2016: Got license back and pay CHF 360 to StVA for storage fee
- Nov 2016: Received bill for busse (400) and court fee (800)
CHF 1560 all-in, an expensive mistake I won't soon forget... | | | | | Did it landed you in Strafenregister? Also from when does the two years start - from day of incident or from day on you get the letter?

(Disclaimer: A Busse of CHF 5000 will be entered in the criminal record, but this is rather unlikely for a traffic fine.)
If it is a, possibly suspended, Geldstrafe (income based monetary penalty) it will be entered in the criminal record. If it is suspended (on probation) it will be in the criminal record during the probation time. The probation time is often two years but can be up to 5 years. No probation for repeated offenders. The probation starts when you got the notice of the judgment. (BGE 120 IV 172)
A suspended monetary penalty will always be combined with a fine.

It stayed there for the duration of my 2 year probation then removed. Probation started when I received the letter of judgement which I did not contest.
