Re: Letter from ecollect.ch

as I've said before they hassled me for months sending various threats, then good cop bad cop letter etc (never a registered letter) various offers to pay, various new charges etc etc etc they all went straight on the fire.

These guys have no legal right to chase this money, no if's or but's. They won't take it further, they just hope being a bully will make you fold.

never respond to them or acknowledge them, just laugh at the amount of postage costs they are wasting chasing a 2chf 'debt'

I have a received a similar letter from e-collect to pay a fine from an EU country for driving on their country's highway without the vignette (vignette is like a receipt and not a sticker). I have not done anything wrong but i don't have the vignette-receipt now after 1 year. They just have a photo of my car by way of proof. The fine is 10 times the original.

In which country did this happen, it is important to find out if there is a treaty between that country and Switzerland, so they can enforce the fine upon you.

A good idea is to block the plate numbers if you didn't do it. That's how they probably identified your address.

Useless, the police will happily provide the contact details to anyone who can demonstrate a plausible reason.

The amount is too low. Probably they won't do anything but sending mail. They won't even send registered mail, it's too expensive for them. How this works - they mass mail such things, surely some will get intimidated any pay. Apparently it works.

You can do a couple of things, but they are probably not worth your time. Just sit back and relax. Maybe just block the number plates so you won't be found online in the future.
