for car commuters: road works? or highway to hell?

being frequently on the road between zürich, Bremgarten and Biel, i drive through neverending autobahn bottlenecks plaged by 2 mts slots (more suitable for vespas than for cars); for the last three years i've rarely reached the 120 km/h allowed for highways. did somebody observed something like this in other regions?

in honour to AC/DC i corrected the thread's name. it's a lot better.

Re: for car conmuters: road works? or highway to hell?

I frequently drive form Bremagarten to Zurich and Rüti and I dont suffer more that about 10 mins of traffic jam - in Mutschellan - if at about 5pm but through Zürich around main station its always a little clogged no matter the time but thats about it.

Driving to Biel I have no idea but I believe that is on the A1 correct ?? and from the radio reports its always stau especially with the (Swiss National Hobby) road works. But to Bremgarten do you take the highway all the way or just to Urdorf?

Enjoy

Re: for car conmuters: road works? or highway to hell?

I've moved this over to transportation/driving, it is more suited to this category.

There is also a lot of construction around Basel and on the autobahn between Basel city and Augst. There have been severe backups/delays, but the worst seems to have passed for now (or at least for the winter, it seems).

I think they have been doing the construction you've mentioned down towards Zurich since I moved here four years ago, more or less. It is horrible!

somebody told me about a report in Blick about all roadworks across CH, allegedly the whole country is a construction site, but since i heavily drive on the mentioned path i wanted to know how it really looks like in other areas. on friday begins the wintersports season and i'll frecuent the road to laax, let's see what kind of road adventures are waiting for me on this strip!
