TCS vs ACS road side assistance

Hi,
I have both TCS and ACS road side assistances which I renew every year. I was told for assistance outside Europe TCS is very expensive. so I took ACS too. can anybody advise in terms of quality of service and other standards, which one is better so that I can cancel the second one.

what I like about these contracts is that they give some offers now and then in their advertising magazines and these offers are only valid for members.
so which one you think is better in terms of these offers?

cheers

Re: TCS vs ACS road side assistance

just to add that I would require assistance both for Switzerland and Europe wide.

I think you will have a long wait for a reply.

Buying two insurances is very unusual. How often do you need to call them?

Have you considered ADAC? They are much larger than TCS & ACS combined.

I have TCS, iirc ACS is more expensive (250/year?). Unless you drive a completely unreliable car, you probably won't need roadside assistance every 3rd or 4th year (assuming that an average collect and tow would be about 1K).

What part of Europe are you driving to/through?

Have you actually done the math and compared the cost of equivalent coverage, suitable to your requirements, between TCS and ACS?

The 250 pa is for the full package - includes roadside (all Europe), full travel/cancellation insurance and (for a further CHF 48) insurance for hire car excess - the latter is pretty good considering the daily charge the car hire companies levy for that. Plus 10% discount off Zurich Insurance. Basic roadside starts from CHF 80 for CH only, 90 including Europe.

TCS is CHF 87 for CH roadside.

Fully agree there is zero point in having both

Re: TCS vs ACS road side assistance

TCS (CH) just decided to raise the price an other 4%. No warning, no mentioning any reasons in the bill (as if they hope I won't notice - I didn't, I just checked because that's what I do with all yearly bills ). They keep doing this and this year it annoys me.

If one registers newly, it costs Fr. 87.00/year. From me they want Fr. 103.00 - so I might better cancel every year instead of being a faithful customer (Been with them for decades).

Their website seems to be more into hiding information than revealing it. I - seriously - tried to get info about what price is valid for which section. No chance.
I also tried to find out about the cancelation period - only found it in the K-Tipp site (!). It's 3 months - the increased cost bill arrived this week = Too late for cancelling the contract anyway.

Has anyone else noticed that TCS has adopted strange business practices?

As my cars get more and more reliable lately (due to not being all THAT old anymore when I buy them ) I wonder if I need this TCS coverage anymore at all. As far as I know I can call them anyway, just pay for it when I need them (the website will probably not tell me about that either).
