only issue I could see is if you have an accident and the insurance try to claim you are between licenses and as such are not covered.
The vehicle is covered, not the person, license or not doesn't matter.

Re: Driving no Licence

Went down to the centre today and asked them for it. It was sitting there waiting to be posted so they just handed it to me instead, all sorted

The fine for not actually having the license with you, when controlled by the police, is SFr 20,-- so that is the worst case scenario.
The fine for not exchanging your licence within twelve months and staying on the road is quite chastening

I actually just exchanged GB license for CH one last week. I went down the police MFK office last Thursday. They took by GB license and gave me a stamped sheet of paper saying I could drive in CH for the rest of the week (until 7th). They mentioned that I could only drive in CH.

I received my new CH license in the post on Monday or Tuesday.

I assume you would be fine, only issue I could see is if you have an accident and the insurance try to claim you are between licenses and as such are not covered.
Your GB license had not expired, or been cancelled by the UK so no such issue could occur. Your Swiss one will show a date of passing test or the start of your last UK license......
