There are some exceptions to the general rule that Swiss residents may not drive foreign registered cars within Switzerland.
You may use foreign
rental cars for up to three days if the rental period began more than five days before entering Switzerland or for eight days from the begin of the rental period.

You can get permission to import and use a
non-rental car for up to 12 times a year. The car must be re-exported within three days.
