Re: Anyone tried the new SBB app?

Used it a few times now.

I like: the drag timetable. Normally, I travel to a few locations so this way of bookmarking is easier than the previous method of typing. I'd actually like to have the bookmark on the home page of the app.

Another bonus is not requiring logging in on each purchase.

It is for ALL public transport. Another confused traveller

I'm not sure where they're trying to draw the boundaries with this new app.

It would be great if it was for all public transport, but it seems that one still needs the local transport app(s) for tickets outside of most simple point-to-point connections. That makes sense, as otherwise the SBB app would be an unwieldy mess of local transport options and rules, but it's a shame nonetheless.

If that was true, then it would sell all the tickets that are possible to buy. It doesn't.

I do not know about tickets you are talking (safe bicycle tikets). But this just inspired me to try something: A ticket on Friday/Saturday night were a night surcharge is due. You will have to do two transactions. It is not possible to add a night surcharge, you can only buy either the normal ticket or the night surcharge.

Re: Anyone tried the new SBB app?

Bike ticket, tri-regio small ticket, tri-regio full region ticket, 6-journey ticket, 2-zone (or more) tickets*, extension tickets. I've not researched any others.

* Although it's possible if you specify a start and end point, the "individual tickets" don't sell 2-zone or more tickets.

Re: Anyone tried the new SBB app?

Has anyone worked out if it is possible to buy a class upgrade with the new app? I spent 10 minutes trying to find it and ended up giving up and buying a full 1st class ticket as my train was about to leave and I was comfy.

Yes: go to the timetable thing, pick a journey, click "buy ticket" - a class upgrade will pop up as one of your options.

Thanks DB. Just tried it again now I'm home. The secret is to search for a second class rather than first class ticket and then scroll down.

You are not the person I'd've expected to know about class upgrades

You can . At least for ZVV it is possible. Select a connection which needs the supplement and it is offered as an option.
Just like the class upgrade.

Re: Anyone tried the new SBB app?

Here's a quick question:

I did a search for a train zurich to basel in leaving 3 hours from now.

From the correct connection given I bought a one way ticket.

On the ticket it says the buy time and valid today.

Is it valid the entire day, or like the ones from the machines only value from x-hours after purchase?

The entire day and up to 0500 the following morning. (Good luck finding much after midnight to use it on)

Re: Anyone tried the new SBB app?

Irritating, I had loaded 2 tickets for today into my "wallet" on the phone from the SBB app, one this morning, one for this afternoon. After having done the first trip, the second ticket showed as expired...... Although date and time clearly showed that the ticket should have been valid.
