Two weeks ago I started the process of importing a vehicle. For reasons i won't dwell into, I want to cancel the importation.

The said vehicle had German plates & I did the importation at the custom in Konstanz (paid various fees for that) exactly 2 weeks ago.

Note: I did not register the car in Switzerland, it still has German plates.

I was told to:
- go back to the exact same border & get a e-dec to export the vehicle to Germany
- once the export is done, send all the papers along with explanation (and proof) why cancelling the importation to Swiss customs to get 95% of Swiss custom fees back

Does anyone have experience for un-importing a vehicle ?

If yes, is the process I described above correct ?
