caravan storage

Can anyone recommend a storage place for a caravan in the Basel/ Alsace region? We are thinking of bringing across our in-laws caravan from England as they no longer use it, however, it is not an option if we can't store it at a reasonable price.

Re: caravan storage

Do what the boat owners do - find a road with no parking restrictions and park it there. Look around the industrial estates in your area for free unlimited parking.

I don't think I've ever seen a road without parking restrictions

Re: caravan storage

You could do a search for 'Wohnwagen einstellplatz Basel' (or wherever you'd prefer to keep it). There are also listings for a parking spot on property websites such as www.homegate.ch

Barbra.

Re: caravan storage

Thanks for the replies. I will check out those websites now. Have just spoken to my neighbour who parks his Trike in France for the winter. He pays about CHF80 a month. I think we will end up paying more to park it than it is actually worth!

Go and visit some campsites in Alsace and ask the question, I guess that France will be cheaper than CH. I have been on some good campsites south of Colmar, names escape me at the moment. We have just been down to near Venice and there were fields of mostly German, but some Swiss caravans parked up.

Oooh nice! If it was up to me I would & then return swiftly to my 5 star luxus hotel! Unfortunately, with welsh in-laws I would be instantly disinherited.
