The 1,200 for 'servicing' on the Evoque also includes a very comprehensive warranty, paying for servicing alone will cost you less than that, but obviously you're on the hook if anything breaks now.
With the Lexus it's the same story, if servicing is free that doesn't mean there won't be bills and you're going to have to pay for breakdowns and consumable parts like brakes, tyres etc.
If the servicing and running costs are the main driver then buy something new with 5 years warranty and 10 years servicing cover, I think the logic of getting a car just for free servicing is flawed though. I reckon your best option is to buy a new Skoda Kodiaq with all the extended service and warranty boxes ticked.
The Lexus is a bigger and heavier car so is likely to have more of an appetite for consumables, it should be reliable but you never know really. Personally I don't like the car and I can't imagine swapping my Evoque for one, but I'm a 30something marketing guy, if you're a 50something accountant it might be different
