Is there a way to cross the lake from around Herrliberg-Feldmeilen station to the wes

Hi all,
Is there a boat/ferry that i could take in the morning (and preferably in the eve) to get to work from around Herrliberg-Feldmeilen station to somewhere as circled in the attached image?

If so, would i be able to include this in a season ticket and use a half tax card?

Thanks all!

yes and yes.

Check the timetables. https://www.zsg.ch/de/

Do note though that you now need to pay a 5 CHF supplement to use ZSG.

Re: Is there a way to cross the lake from around Herrliberg-Feldmeilen station to the

There might be, but you need to remember that the ships / boats run a very restricted service in the winter. The ZSG timetable shows the lake crossings

Thanks Guys. So is that 5CHF every day i take it?! Sounds like its going to get quite expensive as a transport means to work.

As for the restricted winter service, well, this may be a problem. I will check the timetables. Thank you.

Re: Is there a way to cross the lake from around Herrliberg-Feldmeilen station to the

The most frequent commuter route in that area will involve you taking the train for at least one stop on each side of the lake.

Take a look at the Meilen - Horgen car ferry and Erlenbach - Thalwil.

The answer is NO.

The lake "ships" are not set up for commuting.

Re: Is there a way to cross the lake from around Herrliberg-Feldmeilen station to the

Herrliberg to Enge station to station is 35-40 minutes. Add on the home to station and station to work parts and it doesn't seem like an unreasonable commute, particularly by London standards.

RIP Gipfelischiff.

But, there is a private initiative, which runs a chartered Gipfelischif at selected days : http://www.gipfelischiff.ch/aktuell.html
Unfortunately no stop a Hafen Enge.

I dunno. The idea of taking the ferry home on a Friday whilst enjoying a cold one on the top deck is quite appealing.

Do you mean a good deal in the sense of a bargain?
Or a good deal/great deal in the sense of a lot of money?

LOL! I love this forum!

Personally, seems a good multi-buy/bulk discount
No?

Anyway, i guess the boat isnt necessary, the train is only 20 minutes which all things considered is pretty fast. And you still have mobile reception in tunnels here! Brill.

There are boats in the evening - so you could take one home from Burkliplatz - enjoy a beer as you pootle down the lake soaking up some rays.

Just this once I wasn't being pernickety or anything. I really did wonder which was meant. Obviously, Fr.150 a year is a much better deal than Fr.5. per day but I live on Lake Zürich and most folk here are pretty upset about the whole thing. Good deal or not, it is still a rip-off as the whole point of the ZVV tickets is that they are valid for all associated public transport in the specific zone or zones.
